FURNITURE DESIGN

2014 - PRESENT

My appreciation for furniture design stems from my father's passion for carpentry and craftsman work and I was given my first real chance at building something on my own during the spring of 2014 during a Furniture Making elective at UNC Charlotte. From there I developed a love and passion of my own for creating and building my own products. The selected works on this page represent my slow evolution of practice and craft in both personal, academic, and charitable acts of making.

Shown are a small sampling of the final posters for three main explorations into making. To the right is a collaged representation depicting "The Tabletop for the Dream House" which for me meant using the tabletop (in this scenario a bedside table) as a means of conveying my life in that moment. Below and to the bottom right are posters from a semester spent fabricating pieces for a local charity organization, Beds for Kids, wherein I designed and built a bookcase and a lamp for local families as they transition from extreme poverty into new homes.
